Meanwhile, carolers came out in the Christmas spirit Dec. 4 for the traditional Tree Lighting and Caroling at Concordia University Chicago.
Accompanied by the University’s brass instrumentalists and choirs, students, faculty, staff and visitors caroled their way through campus to light Christmas trees. Afterward, everyone gathered at the historic Pillars at Addison Hall for hot chocolate, cider and cookies to toast the season.
Following the tree-lighting, the University community and our friends from throughout the region gathered in the Chapel of Our Lord on campus Dec. 5 and 6 to celebrate Services of Lessons and Carols. In addition to Scripture readings, the services featured the music of University ensembles including Kapelle, Schola Cantorum, Mannerchör, Laudate, Chamber Orchestra and the Handbell Choirs.
