Commuter Information
|
Lockers: Lockers are located in the stairwells and near the mailroom on the lower level of the KCC. Locker request forms are available in the KCC office, located to the right of the KCC Information Desk. Commuter students may choose any available locker but you must provide your own lock. Assignments are for the academic year only and so lockers must be cleaned out in May. Mail Boxes: All students are assigned a mailbox when they enroll at Concordia University Chicago. If you have any questions about your mailbox, stop by the mailroom on the lower level of the KCC. In addition, the mailroom is a fully functioning US post office. You can buy stamps, post items, and weigh and mail packages. Eating on Campus: All commuter students receive $75 in Cougar Cash, the cost of which is included in your student fees. There are other meal plan options available, created with commuter students in mind. For more information, please visit http://www.cuchicagodining.com/plans.html Public Transportation: Currently, CUC does not offer the CTA U-PASS or other discounted public transportation passes. You do have some options if you are trying to use public transportation to get to campus. Pace, the suburban bus system, has a discounted student pass. More information can be found online. Students who are able to use Metra to get to campus may be interested in Metra’s Link Up feature. For a flat rate, monthly pass holders can include unlimited connecting travel on Pace or CTA buses. Connecting travel on CTA buses is limited to peak travel hours. More information can be found online. Parking on Campus: For the 2009-2010 academic year, commuters may park on campus for free, but a CUC permit is needed. Registration forms are available both in the Campus Security Office and at the University Switchboard. When registering your vehicle, you must have the following information available: - your student H-number If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the Office of Student Leadership and Involvement at studentactivities@cuchicago.edu or by phone at 708-488-4215. |
