Schmieding Counseling Center
About the Center
The Schmieding Counseling Center's services are available to the students, staff and faculty of Concordia University Chicago. All services are strictly confidential and free of charge.
The center is committed to providing a range of personal counseling services, including:
- Evaluation
- Short-term and long-term psychotherapy
- Support groups
- Referrals to off-campus resources & services
- A variety of periodic workshops and mental health and wellness screenings
The staff at the Schmieding Counseling Center have completed the necessary requirements for licensure in the state of Illinois. In addition to the academic, state, and national requirements, they have had many years of clinical experience.
The center especially strives to help students successfully make important transitions, such as starting college, living away from home for the first time, transferring from another school to Concordia, or returning to college after a time away from school.
