Campus Recreation and Intramurals

Concordia University Chicago’s Campus Recreation and Intramurals program strives to offer exciting, innovative and fun activities for students. This program is an opportunity for students to interact with peers, make new friends and to become more physically active.  The program is designed to develop character, leadership and sportsmanship.  Although the recreation and intramurals are intended for students, faculty and staff members are welcome to participate.

Campus recreation includes any recreational events that are held on or off campus, such as running/walking events, excursions throughout the Chicago area and card/board games.

An intramurals is defined as a sport competition that is played by students, faculty or staff.  Athletes who play at the collegiate level may not participate in intramural teams of the sport they are involved in.  Athletes who are ineligible can serve as referees or participate in another intramural sport. Some of our popular events have included ultimate frisbee, volleyball, bowling, floor hockey and basketball.  The intramural program is not limited to these sports and is designed according to the interests of the participating students.

The University will cover most of the costs of the Campus Recreation and Intramural program, however, there may be fees required of the participants so more activities can be provided throughout the course of the year.  Please contact Scott Hendricks, Director of Campus Recreation and Intramurals, with any questions or suggestions at 708-209-3505 or scott.hendricks@cuchicago.edu
